ALL ABOUT YDV
Yellow Dog Village was formed in November of 2024 by it’s 4 original members Cyrus Wittle, Seth Craley, Chris Varnell and Abram Beard. Both Cyrus Wittle and Seth Craley had been recording together for a few years making many, now lost, poor quality recordings from ‘22-24. As a band Yellow Dog Village would begin experimenting with recordings over the winter. In February of 2025 the group had began working on “I Will Crawl” which was the first song recorded for their upcoming album.
Over the next few months the band recorded the remaining tracks that would make up their debut album “Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful”.
Over the summer the band took a slight break from recording but continued to play a few live shows, by the end of the summer two of the original members had went off to college leaving Cyrus Wittle and Abram Beard to begin working on the post-album single “Someone Is Watching”. After the singles release the band would play one more show with a new bassist Desta Shultz.
In November of 2025 after a car crash and a few unfortunate life events Cyrus Wittle would begin writing/finalizing and recording tracks for a new project “Love Canal Refugees”, a 45 minute collection of songs and noises based on the past year of his life. After recording began Andrew Frey, Noah Landis and Desta Shultz officially joined the band along with Seth Craley who returned to play drums. The album also features notable performances from Jodi Bright-Walck on vocals and violin, Joe Gaydose on saxophone, and Layne Kucxynski on mallet percussion.
The band continued recording Love Canal Refugees from November 25' - May 26', finally releasing the album on June 13th, 2026. May also marked the return of live performances for the band, playing their first two shows together with the new members.
Over the summer the band would continue to play live around central PA, while Cyrus Wittle began writing and recording the first couple songs for the bands upcoming project "Born to Die, Live to Experience", coming 2027.
In the early fall of 2026 the band released an early single for their upcoming album, "Born to Die (Hallelujah)" along with B-side "ETHCS101".
